Change?

May 25, 2009

I was planning to write about emo kids (as in, emotional kids, not the cult following that’s developed around ‘being emo’) ‘cause I heard of a friend cutting herself. I had no idea and it was a bit of a shock! Either that or Rain, because it’s supposed to and hasn’t started to yet.

But my mother (dearest (: )ruined my mood with an Obama rant, and now I’m confused. Confused because I’m not too sure about how I should react to his ‘humanitarian assistance’ to Pakistan, or, as it seems, to the Taliban. I’m not too sure about the details. I have to look them up.

I adore Obama, and the idea that someone who spoke of ‘Change’ in his inauguration speech could be short-sighted is heart-breaking. Short sighted because supporting Pakistan would help the US to get closer to Afghanistan. Is this what his administration really plans?

Will Obama’s assistance to Pakistan help them repel the Taliban? Or not? Will the Government of Pakistan do anything? Are they so weak? Or will the people of Pakistan stand up and fight.

Taliban, That vile infestation of twisted and mutated ‘religion’, that crushes and destroys peoples freedom. Not just Physical Freedom, but Freedom of Choice, Freedom to Enjoy, to Express, to Grow, to Learn. Freedom to Love. Freedom of Men, Women, and worst of all, Children.

Mental Freedom. Freedom to Live.

Is this what the purpose of life is reduced to? To live or to die. Both, fighting.
